#OneRecordEveryDay - Inheriting/Experiencing My Fathers Record Collection

in life •  6 years ago

A few days ago, I inherited all of my dads old records. I was going through them and trying to organize everything and I realized this is a mountain of music I have never heard or experienced.

Growing up, my dad used to play me records and CD's of some of his favorite records growing up. I remember individual songs but I dont ever remember listening to them front to back.

He had an emotional attachment to these records. He grew up with these songs.

Now, I want to experience what he had.

These songs and records might be very dear to my heart. Some of these records are going to be total duds. Most of these I had never heard before.

So, everyday I am going to be listening to a record front to back and sharing it with you all. If anyone has any input on what I am listening to, let me know! I’ll give my own opinions as well. There is a bunch to listen to but let’s get started!

The first record is...

Sparks - In Outer Space

Impression

The first track is a song I actually knew, Cool Places. There is an odd mix of songs that are really good hits but overall, it sounds like a John Hughes movie soundtrack, which isn't a bad thing. It just sounds very generic 80's, but hey! We're just getting started
