My eldest son is a grown up kid now and my husband wanted him to experience how to travel or commute going to school as my husband, @michaelcabiles, is giving him somw training.
My son, Mikhail, lived with in my arms since his birth and wherever and whenever we go somewhere, I use our private car to travel. My husband thought of something new to him and teaching him how to go somewhere to take a bus like other people do.
I don't like it at first but, it's a decision to let him be a kid who has a resposibility to watch himself or take care of himself like what other kids do in able to grab an opportunity be an imdependent person.
My husband also transferred to his new school job and also my eldest son transferred there so that his father will be one of his teachers who would teach him at school and at home.
I would also want him to be more matured enough and even though he's still 8 years old as a normal kid do like playing some stuffs, I would have want him to be more matured and do the things that he hadn't done before.
Teach your children in a good way as what other people do and you will see their future as one of the persons in the world who are successful in life.

@thidaratapple, In my opinion experience and training is important and vital because if kids want to know how to become independent in this crazy world then definitely they need training and guidance at early stages.

Yes, I agree and it's not what I meant to say that he must be on his own. Me and my husband want him to be more mature enough outside our home. 😊

Ha ha, not about alone, kids or adults, we face situations where we stand as independent and from young age if kids face independent situations it will help them to handle situations better way when they grow up. Stay blessed you and your family. 😊
