NIGHTCRAWLERS

CAN I JUST SAY a massive shoutout to the nocturnal folk. Whether you be insomniac or working. By choice or not. I'm not an overly spiritual douchebag but there is a different energy when the world is dark and quiet. Big thanks to all the incredible folk like paramedics and new parents doing their thing.

I work at night out of choice (but really, natural light chose for me), and sometimes when I've absolutely beasted a night of camming and want to unwind with a few beers, I drive to my local petrol station. Everytime, the guy who works the night shift is so lovely, so nice to talk to. A genuinely gorgeous human being that I would not know if I wasn't such a bloody reprobate.

So nice he inspired this post. Tonight, I was having debit card issues (as in I don't have mine right now) so we were faffing around with Android Pay for fucking ages til I slipped my phone through the little night time draw thing and he made it work. He then said he would've let me had my cheap weak beers for free even if it hadn't worked. I said it's more than his job's worth but I was beyond touched – I've tried not to make a habit of buying beers at stupid times (though you surround someone with a non-proper job with 24 hour shops and this is what happens), but his cheery face always fills me with such joy. I'd been having a shit night til I saw him. And this isn't a romantic thing – just a sunny person in the dead of night is so welcome to me.

So hell yeahsss to all you night time weirdos, whatever reason. Stay sunny.
