"The Delusion of Free Will" from Festival of Dangerous Ideas in Sydney. Presentation by neuroscientist Sam Harris

This is a familiar argument, and one with a long history. But is it a good argument? I don't think so. Why think that if it is within my power to perform an action, but also within my power to refrain from so doing, then what I do happens just by chance? Maybe I have a good reason for doing what I do on that occasion...
[Harris'] argument is a complete failure.

Concept of free will comes from human arrogance to think that human is the only thing in the Universe that is not influenced by the environment. EVERYTHNG in universe is influeced by the environment.

Who said humans were not? "Influenced" and "determined" are not at all the same thing.

Everything in universe is determined by environmenal influences. I hope that made it clear now.
