Love the Process
15. Ch’ien/Modesty
The Earth, despite the clash of forces on opposing extremes, does not seek balance. It simply balances. One could say that homeostasis, is not the goal, but is the prime function of life itself. It is to say that ebb and flow, wax and wane are examples of endless cycles which are intrinsically at play in order to maintain the balance of life.
Then there is you. Infinitely more-or-less aware of the perceived imbalances happening within and around you. Depending on culture and personality, our awareness is triggered by perceived instances of imbalance. Some see a world in great ecological imbalance. Others see the economic injustices both locally and globally. Then there are the imbalances that we experience personally, such as health and cosmetic appearances.
The sooner you realize that no one gives a shit about your looks, the sooner you can get to work making a change in the world.
We spend much of our time trying to repair these perceived imbalances, almost obsessively. It comes to a point where the pursuit of balance becomes the source of imbalance. For example, for many of us, our desire to balance our finances, results in imbalances in health, which leads to further disruption of financial balance.
It is days like today, where we are reminded about the natural balancing that is taking place outside of our purposeful intent. That life itself is an act of balance. That despite any deficits, we need not stress. Just as we cannot hold our breath to a point of suffocation, we cannot fail unless we decide to stop moving. Even stillness requires effort. So we might as well stay directed through Higher guidance, and grounded by the Earth itself. Do all of us and yourself a favour today, walk on the grass barefoot.
Stay Blessed,
Lee
