Good Friday, family fun day out.

There are only a few things that are guaranteed to happen on a bank holiday...

1. The roads are bumper to humber and everywhere is full of idiots.

2. The weather will be wet and miserable.

And guess what?? 2 for 2!!

But in good old British fashion, knowing these things were inevitable, we still decided to take 1/2pint out for the day. So, since he's animal crazy, we decided to take him to the UK largest and "best" safari park; longleat.

If you haven't noticed already we decided to take the tour bus on the safari and this next bit is the reason why....

The longleat monkeys are well known for their love of destruction!! So it's best avoided entering with your own vehicle.... These people clearly didn't get the memo.

After the safari came lunch, you can't beat a front seat picnic!

Longleat safari is set in the grounds of the marquess of Baths estate. The estate covers approximately 9000 acres. The ground and House have been open to the public since the 60's.

It has its own wildlife theme park and there is plenty to see and do even on a rainy day.

At one stage the heavens opened up so much that we had to hide in the indoor aquarium. I think we were wetter than the penguins.

Like I said, it was a little bit wet but that didn't stop us from having a great time.

To finish the day off and to make sure 1/2pint was well and truly worn out we heading to the indoor soft-play area

And yes a good time was had by all...

Poor little 1/2pint didn't even make it out of the grounds before passing out. I think k he enjoyed his day.
