I once had a (literally) crazy neighbor. This was my experience.

This happened in January of 2008. Actually, it was a collection of incidents starting in December of 2007, then culminating into this fiasco which finally involved landlords.

First of all, please understand that I fully sympathize with people who have mental illnesses.

However, when your neighbor does stuff like this, sympathy can really only go so far.
Besides, this is less about her and more about how funny-and-then-disturbing the video itself is.
It doesn't actually show you my neighbor, only the sounds she made which could be heard through the walls.
In fact, there are some spots in it when the audio had to be tweaked enough for the viewer to hear her.

As you can hear in the video, she had issues with screaming/yelling at all hours of the day and night. I even called the cops on her for some of the stuff she was yelling, as some of it seemed very threatening in nature to....someone. And that's just it - she lived alone. All of those noises were made by herself, and at.....no one. Nevertheless, when the cops arrived, she never answered the door, nor did she make a single sound like she had when I originally called them. Therefore, they couldn't do anything.

At any rate, I'll let the video speak for itself.
Also, sorry for the language. I was much more outspoken back then than I am now. ;-)

Thank you for sharing. Finding humor in dark moments is very hard to do. I know you weren't the one battling whatever demons she was fighting but you were a part of the madness. Laughing it off is usually the best medicine.

I hope she got the help she needed... but who knows... she could have been writing lyrics for a death metal band. Great job, you probably ruined that gig :P

I could only laugh that off for so long. Coulda been 2am or 2pm - her volume level was a 12.
Our walls weren't thick enough for that crap.

Oh man! You just reminded me a movie of neighbors 2 sorority rising! haha, neighbors are the worst enemy sometimes not all the times but shit happens.

@jackgallenhall

wt... ? Yep batshit crazy right there.

See, and then you have to wonder....is she maybe playing Halo???

looool, yeah unlikely :D

I forgot about this.. awesome.. we need to have her on the podcast!

I bet that would make for some awesome soundbytes to pull up in later episodes. :)

Poor woman... It's likely schizophrenia... I imagine she's screaming at the voice in her head, who harasses her. She keeping the voice "locked up" in her head because the voice is probaby threatening to get out (who knows).

The woman needed professional help...

She really did, which is why I didn't identify her in the video. She's not just being beligerent, she very obviously had mental issues. Back when I originally posted this several years ago, I had a lot of friends begging me to show her in future videos, but I refused. No one should be shamed for something they have no control over. This video just highlights my experience of it from the other side of the wall. Waking up out of a dead sleep hearing her scream those godawful things at 2am was not a fun thing.

No I can imagine! You have to look after your own mental health too! And stress and lack of sleep are 2 things our mental health can do without.

It's just a shame she didn't seem to have any family to look after her or pay for her care or treatment. If it took 6 months to evict her I hope they spent some of that time working out who should be looking out for her...
