Day 48 - The alphabet (12/10/2018)

Did you ever try writing sentences in a language with a completely different alphabet, if not I wholeheartedly suggest it. It will give you the feeling you had when you were learning to write when you were a kid. The last few days I have been writing down various sentences in Russian and I have to say, some of these letters really make me question my ability to copy simple symbols, and my political views…

Most letters I am able to copy just fine, although some of them are sometimes a little confusing. Take the Russian letter и or я for example, they are not too hard to copy, even if someone decided taking the letter N and R and flipping them was a good idea.

But then we run into this beautiful bastard б. My first couple attempts at this magnificent thing ended up looking like a unraveled number 6, I soon realized all I had to do however was just write the letter 6 and make to top end bend up. I now describe this letter as “the number six with Trump’s haircut”

Then we come to the blight of my existence, the letter… whatever this is ж. All I will say is that I am happy that I practiced writing this letter first before putting it down on paper. In trying to find the easiest way to write it I unintentionally ended up creating more things that resembled a swastika then this thing ж.

This one just plain... wierd xD

All in all, I am enjoying the learning process, and even if some of the letters in the sentences look like a train hit them, it’s the thought that counts. And I am sure one special lady will definitely enjoy reading everything I wrote down.
