I Don't Believe in God and That Doesn't Make Me a Bad Person

When I think of East Texas, I think about a few business trips to Longview and my lust for the 'daiquiri hut'. In regards to your post, you have to live your life the way you see fit as long as it doesn't affect others directly. It's crazy you said that - I live in Longview! I've never been to the daiquiri place but I've always heard great things about it! 😀

I would find myself staying next door at the Hilton hotel and then we would meander over with colleagues. We were fascinated by this, we didn't have anything in Austin like that whatsoever.

Was this recently? I think the Hilton is still fairly new here! We had nothing but hospitals and restaurants and then a few years ago we got a lot of new hotels - I'm hoping we'll have more entertainment soon to make sense of having all the nice hotels. We get so bored on date nights and usually go to Tyler if we want to do something other than eat! If you search things to do on Trip Advisor for Longview, one of the first reccomendations is "Walmart". 😂

Nope! This was like 8 years ago. I remember there wasn't much there. A few nice Mexican restaurants and the Sushi Japanese place. Flying into that airport in Tyler was an adventure unto itself.

Being from Dallas and then coming here was a drastic change! I first moved to Diana, which is 20 minutes from Longview. It's so small it's not even considered a city! It's pretty much cow pastures and one property with K-12th grade on one campus. Longview is a little better. I went to Austin once when I wanted to go to UTA - I can't believe how big it was! Are you from Texas?
