Like many things in our society, it is a race to the bottom. Who can out-due another in terms of crudeness or audaciousness? It's all about getting a reaction, and reality tv with horrible, disgusting immoral people gets the loudest reaction of all. Who needs or why care about morals and civility when it's all about ratings to earn the all mighty dollar? Just another reason why our system is in the toilet and the U.S. empire will inevitably crash. Media is helping to perpetuate idiocy and mindless entertainment, and that can only be profitable for so long to keep the debt machine going.
