Life Matters

With our addiction and mental health untreated, a lot of us clung to the idea that our behaviors harmed nobody but ourselves. That it not true. How many times did we step on the toes of our fellows and they react? How many times did we lie, only to think that we weren't lying to others? How many times have we said that we don't need this medication, only to end up hospitalized once more? While on this course, how many times did we harm those closest to us?

Buddhism emphasizes right intention when it comes to our motives and our actions, that our decisions should benefit others. Alcoholics Anonymous suggests that if we take a look at ourselves, we will see our motives and see what choices need to be made. Additionally, it says that we should seek a Higher Power's guidance, asking that our thinking be “divorced from self-pity, dishonest or self-seeking motives.”

Peace & love to all
