Countless films had to be postponed far back during the past ten months due to the corona pandemic and its far-reaching effects on the cinema and film industry. One of those films was John Wick: Chapter 4 , which was originally announced for May of this year .
But Corona was not the only reason why the fourth chapter of the hottest new action series of the last ten years will appear around a year later.
At the latest when Warner terminated Matrix 4 for exactly the same start date as John Wick 4 , it was clear that one of the two would give way, and when the filming of Matrix 4Having started first, it also became apparent that in all likelihood John Wick 4 would not be filmed in time to air in the summer of 2021.
Either way, it was no surprise when Lionsgate postponed the film in North America until May 27, 2022 - in direct competition with the new Dungeons & Dragons film from Paramount.
As a consolation for the long waiting time it was announced that John Wick 5 would be shot immediately after the fourth film, so that the waiting time between the next two sequels should be significantly shorter.
Production of the films is expected to begin in spring 2021.
He may not be the most diverse actor, but the role of the efficient professional killer is made for Keanu Reeves.
