When I was younger I had a really hard time learning to read. I’m dyslexic, so I needed help when I was young. But every night my parents would read to me. Thus my love for books started. The seed was planted deep along with a respect for the contents of these tomes.
I have created a good sized library within my own home. Each of my books is sacred to me. Like an old friend I get to visit whenever I want. Some of the covers are well warned from how many times I have read them or just from their age. I collect old and new books. If it’s something that interests me I will usually buy it. Or at the very least check it out from the Library.
Now, do I keep every book I get or collect? No, some of them I do not connect with and therefore feel that someone else should have it. Also, my house would be overrun with books. I may like that idea but the rest of my family does not.
The next generation in my own home is being taught the value of books. That they are to be respected. My one-year-old has a hard time not playing with the books. Watching him take one off of the shelf and bring it to me and say, “read.” Is one of the cutest things ever. As for my daughter, she may not be able to read yet. She always has a book to look at before she goes to bed.
Books are amazing and as much as people believe that computers or tablets will replace them, I’m not sure that will ever happen. There is something about the smell and feel of a book in your hand. Yeah, I am totally a Bibliophile.

I love books too. I would have a big library if I could.
