One of the reasons why I am grateful that I competed as a bodybuilder is the valuable lesson I learnt: knowing that it’s impossible to train at maximum capacity every day, every week, every month. You need to break up your training into phases, and understand that each phase has its value.
I hope that most Health Professionals around the world are also teaching the same lesson to their clients?
I find myself explaining to clients all the time that there’s valuable time spent outside of your peak, when you need to allow your body to rest and recuperate. Taking your training volume down sometimes is not the end of the world. Eating delicious food that nourishes your body is always a good idea to live a healthy, fulfilling, & happy life - but if you want to eat some naughty food every now and again it’s ok. You aren’t going to get fat & unhealthy instantly.
I really want to help people change their mindsets.
Once you understand the importance of the different phases within your training/exercise schedule, you’ll be happier knowing that there’s a bigger plan in place to be the best version of yourself.
