Lightsteem code golf #1 - Unfollow accounts who don't follow you back

See the source at Github.

The amount of code required to push a custom JSON for follow looks like a bit overkill. I will add shortcuts to Account helper.

Another good unfollow strategy is to check if they've been active within 1 year and if not, unfollow them.

I agree. I also don't think you should unfollow just because someone is not following you. That makes for a strange flow of information in a network.

Dropping dead people on the other hand makes a lot of sense

Agreed. This is not necessarily a good thing but a personal preference. :)

Not sure if I'm down with that spamy script begging for a witness vote. I choose my witness's carefully and although I haven't seen much of your work and what you bring to the community I'm sure it's highly valuable. I will check in on your posts as I'm interested in coding so you may get my vote for in the future

Thanks @neddykelly, That's a great example of a responsible citizen. That vote begging memo only sent to my followers - indicating they know me already and my work.

However, sometimes, we just follow users and forget. No worries. :)

Absolutely. That was no criticism of your post. You are simply giving examples of how to use steem with python and that is very valuable no matter the use case. I read your steem-python introduction for dummies and that was very helpful for me.

Nice idea. How would you determine being active? Posting or commenting? Voting?

There are a lot of auto-voters, vote-sellers do not post anything. Not sure If I should include voting for the deciding process.

Bandwitdth updates are the easiest to key on. And yeah, it won’t filter out bots, but you can manually deal with them, right? :)

Not a bad strategy indeed. Although I left steemit for a year And returned and still had the 800 lameless shit bots that still follow me.

Wouldn't it be better to see the list of accounts first, I couldn't think of a way to do on cli/api for sure but I know you are the man of solutions.
