No empty conditional blocks in bash

    if [ $ACCOUNT == 'accountname' ]
    then

        reqsubstr="requiredsubstring"
        if [ -z "${PERMLINK##*$reqsubstr*}" ] ;then

            echo 'nop'

            #/usr/local/bin/steempy resteem --account "account name" "$RESTEEMIFIER"
        fi
    fi

i was wondering if everyone stopped posting

but (and its something i knew but syntax is a waste of brainspace, the "echo "nop" is imperative here (any null command will do) or it breaks due to "syntax error in line xxx near 'fi' "
