While doing my treadmill workout - and earning multiple crypto tokens, I was wondering how I could repurpose three recently acquired and VERY OLD laptops - only 1-2 GB RAM and miniscule HDD storage; meaning, forget running Windows or Mac OS, with the least amount of time and effort.
Then I remembered that Puppy linux was made to run lightning fast straight from a USB - basically "a portable operating system on a stick".
[BTW, there are several such OS distros out there (e.g., Porteus, Slax, or any OS .iso that can be Etcher or Rufus burned to disk and run "live).]
Anyway, Puppy Linux was exactly what was needed to keep the old laptops out of the "hardware graveyard" (aka, the spare bedroom's closet).
