Ubuntu 17.10.1 Linux Distro Now Available

While the initial Ubuntu 17.10 release was well received by the community, it wasn't a flawless release. The 17.10 release contained a bug that only affected certain systems, mostly Lenovo, that would actually corrupt the motherboards BIOS. This is obviously a major problem, and while I personally had no issues on my Gigabyte motherboard, I'm glad that Canonical reacted quickly and removed all download links to Ubuntu 17.10.

Ubuntu 17.10.1 has now been released that fixes this bug, and considering I have been running 17.10 since the day it released, I highly recommend this distro to any Linux user.

17.10 was a big release for Canonical as it dropped support for Unity and Mir in favor of GNOME and Wayland. This means that most of the major Linux distributions are now shipping GNOME by default, and there will surely be a greater emphasis on improving and supporting that desktop environment.

Ubuntu 18.04 will surely be one of the biggest releases in recent history, as well as being the next LTS (Long Term Support distribution), and I couldn't be more excited.
