After three years of ups and downs, the price of cryptocurrency litecoin finally set a new historical top.

Litecoin was released in late 2011 as an open source optimization for bitcoin, and is experiencing high expected volatility as its latest price record was $ 53.15 in November 2013.

In May of this year, there was a new litecoin record, which reached a marketcap of $ 1.4 billion. This high came soon after the news that the exchange Coinbase would be adding the criptomoeda in its platform.

And now a similar ad comes straight from Europe. The UK-based exchange of crypto-coins, Bitstamp, today informed its customers via twitter that it would add litecoin on the platform, check out:

Litecoin completes a journey that began when the price of the cryptomoeda started to increase in March, driven by the anticipation of the implementation of Segregated Witness (SegWit), a software update that allows the protocol to perform a greater number of transactions. Since the adoption of SegWit, litecoin has had no problems with integration.

The price of litecoin has risen more than 1,000% in the last 90 days as the network has mustered the necessary support and then implemented the update providing a striking contrast over the last three years.
