It is the little things that matter in the lives of most people. Whether it is a smile, a hug, or a simple smile, those are the things that mean the world to us and when we miss them, it is devastating. How many times have we wished for something but had not said it? Maybe that day will come again and you will wish for nothing more than to be able to smile without having to worry about all the harmful particles of pollen that are floating around in the air without you knowing it!
When you are thinking of the little things that mean a lot to you, think of all the gestures you can extend to others. Can you extend your warmest gestures without being aware of what you are doing? Can you make other people laugh without thinking? You may think of funny things but do you know what effects these little things will have? One of the best things about gestures is the fact that there are so many to choose from!
To illustrate the power of these little things, imagine how happy everyone would be if one of your classmates won the quiz show that was being held during 1954. Everyone would burst into song and dance, absolutely loving it. Imagine the number of people that would watch that, including the host and audience members. That is because even though the odds were against them, they made up for it with their mastery of song and dancing, making them the recipient of the 1954 best selling record chart title.
How many times have you wished for something but were unsure how to get it? If you were not aware that it could exist, how would you know that you should go out and get it? Of course, the answer would be to look for and buy it. We would not dream of not wanting anything that could make us happy. To illustrate what we mean here, consider a situation where a small kitty cat is sick.
You can do anything you wish, right? Why would you not wish to consult a doctor when the only alternative is to take your kitty to the vet? After all, this would be a risk, especially if the vet thinks that your kitty is suffering from cancer. The best thing for you to do would be to get the treatment that you need. However, if you had no way to find a good doctor, what would you do then?
What is better than getting to do something for yourself, yet at the same time make a positive impact on the lives of others? This little thing with the word 'thing' in front of it certainly fits the bill! For example, you would not think of buying a lottery ticket if you knew that every time you bought one, five more people would lose their lives.
So, when your beloved kitty is ill, your heart would be broken, and you would go through a long chain of emotions. You would not wish this upon your worst enemy; nor would you wish death upon any member of your family. So, why would you do this to a pet? You would not.
Now, you have realized the importance of little things. You have seen how this can change your life and the lives of others. Now, you need to make the most of these little things and use them to be the best you can be. You needn't wait until it is too late!
