The little things count! My 2 year old daughter singing...
Life has so many hard moments, and you have to deal with them no matter what, because those things are part of life. Life contains happy moments, hard moments, sad moments, moments of frustration or what ever moment you can think of.
Especially when you are going through hard times, of have to deal with emotional difficulties in life it would be good to be aware of the little things in life that can make you smile or give you an intense feeling of happieness.
Take a moment to enjoy
Sometimes you don't realize when they occur, because you are filled with other emotions. It can help a lot by just taking a moment to enjoy a little thing that makes you smile. It can be anything actually, because every person is different. We all have other things that we can enjoy by just watching it, or seeing it happen.
Maybe you get happy by watching the birds in the garden, chirping to each other. Or maybe you get a big smile by watching your cat spinning while he enjoys you petting him.
Our little girl is a bit slower learning to talk
Our 2 year old daughter starts to talk more and more, but it is taking a bit longer than with my other 2 children. That's not a bad or weird thing, because I know why that is. We moved to another country while she was only 3 months old, and when we lived in Spain she heard 3 languages around her. Dutch, English and Spanish, as every person we came across spoke to her in their own language. So a child as little as that is also learning those languages. At home we spoke mostly Dutch to her, but also practiced words wit her in the other 2 languages. We think it is good for here to be confronted with those languages, as she will benefit this when she gets older.
She won't be going to a Dutch school anyway, and I guess she will benefit the most from the English and Spanish part. We don't master the Spanish language by heart ourselves, but I am planning to practice this more, as it would be good for both me and her to have more knowledge about it. We see ourselves moving to a country where they speak Spanish somewhere in the future.
A third language added since we moved to Hungary
But as we moved from Spain to Hungary after 14 months there, she is now also hearing the Hungarian language, which seems quite difficult to us. Where I learned several things in Spain after a few months, I can not say the same about the Hungarian language after 5 months being here. In Spain we moved to a town where they barely speak English, so we had to adapt soon by using google translate, here most people speak English very well. But our daughter is hearing the language anyway, as people speak to her when we pass by.
Can you imagine that sometimes our daughter suddenly says a new word, and I really have to think hard which language this could be, because quite often it was not Dutch, but Spanish or English that she learned. I love this, but it also means she is a bit slower with talking, as she is gathering more information in her head that she has to process too. I know this, so it's not a point that I worry about..
Back to the little things
This weekend all of the sudden she started singing. It sound so damn cute! She started singing the same part over and over again, as if she had written her own song .. And she is really enjoying it as we smile when she starts singing, she almost acts like she is performing.. After hearing it many times, I realized she was singing something like (in Dutch this time so I'll translate) "Daaaadddyyy, sleeping ssssshhhhh" followed by some other words I do not understand yet :)
Her dad was sick last weeks so he was sleeping a lot, because he had to rest, and everytime he was sleeping, while we were awake, she looked at me, put her vinger in front of her mouth and said "ssssssst" . So funny. So basically it looks like she "wrote" a song about this lol.
Moments of joy and love
I can get so happy seeing and hearing this, not only because it is a new thing that she is now singing, but her enjoying it makes me smile too.
And daddy can be happy, it's an ode to him :)
I hope to make a recording of it later on, maybe I can figure out how to add this in a post.. But I can't promise anything, as that's new to me...
Take moment to enjoy, and share your #littlethings moment
I think it would be great if we all start to take a moment enjoying the little things in life, and share this on Steemit!
Wouldn't it make you happy if you see several stories every day from other members, that put a smile on your face just by reading it? It certainly would make me smile reading them!
Then the little things even have more meaning, as it may also make another person (who only read a story) smile or happy.
I used the tag #littlethings for this post. If you want to join me posting those happy moments that made you smile, which you want to share on Steemit with others I want you to ask to use your fist tag: littlethings
Of course you can use the other for 4 tags as you please, but this way we can collect a bunch of happy stories among the steemit members.
How do I make a post to share ?
Your post can be a picture with explanation, or without if it speaks for itself.. but it can be a short or long story too. It doesn't matter, you can decide for yourself how you want to share it. I am looking forward to more posts.

Great story! It certainly brought a smile on my face, so cute!
Children can be raised up with multiple languages! She will experience the benefits of it! But isn't it hard to learn your daughter to speak one language without mixing it up with other languages she heard? Just curious, haha! Nice post!
