A. Definition of Religion

In the Qur'an, religion is called Millah, for example Millatu Ibrahim which means religion (brought) ibrahim. (An-Nahl: 123). In addition in the Qur'an religion is also called din or ad-din. For example: lakum punished waliya din which means for you din (religion) mu, and for me din (religion) ku. (Al-Kafirun verse 6).
But the word din, besides means religion also means: the Judgment of Judgment Day, customs, laws, regulations, and obedient or obedient.
Then according to the meaning of the term (terminology), a formula about the meaning of religion mentions, that religion contains three main elements:
A CREDO system for the absolute absence of man;
One man's system of rhetoric to the one he perceives as absolute; and
A NORMA system that governs human relationships with fellow human beings and human relationships with other realms, in accordance and in accordance with the aforesaid beliefs and customs (Ansari, 1979: 110-111).
Drs. Hasbullah Bakry, in his article "Talking about the Definition of Religion" The May 10, 1961 People's Sovereign Newspaper states that: "Religion is a way of life with belief in the God of YME and guided by scripture and led by a Prophet."
By that definition it is known that the so-called religion contains four elements:
Religion is a way of life or way of life. A concrete muamalah road. He has certain rules for the guidelines for the life of his followers.
It teaches the belief (faith) of the God Almighty. God is impossible not to exist, and it is impossible to sum up.
It has a holy book which is a collection of revelations received by the Prophet from the Godhead, by the whisperings of the Holy Spirit (Archangel Gabriel).
The religion is led by a Prophet. If the Prophet was still alive, he was not hidden in the ignorant people's circle, but spread his teachings openly, and was able to discuss amongst the intelligent. And if the Prophet had died, there would be clear evidence that he had lived, said this and that for guidance for his people (hafidy, 1982: 123-124).

B. The Importance of Religion in Life
Religion is very important in human life. Thus the importance of religion in human life, so recognized or not really human, is in dire need of religion. And the very need for religion by man, not only in primitive times when science has not yet developed, but also in modern times as science and technology have advanced so much.
