Why does orgasm stimulate screams and moans?

Few reach orgasm in silence. And the reason why certain moans are emitted when making love has a somewhat different explanation from what is believed. Especially for women.

It won't be quite like in the movies where the two protagonists reach orgasm with incredible background sounds, but moans and screams are known to be an integral part of sexual intercourse for most couples. Are they simply vocalizations that are impossible to hold back when you feel pleasure? We know that this is not always the case, since there are also those who prefer (and manage) to make love while remaining silent.

The most curious one is psychological and mainly concerns women. According to several studies, female moans and squeals would in fact be a form of strategic communication to stimulate the sexual arousal of the couple and to guide the partner during intercourse trying to gain its own advantage. These copulatory vocalizations, therefore, would constitute a form of reassurance towards the partner to indicate that he is on the right path and, at the same time, a way to strengthen his self-esteem and his libido. Furthermore, the variations in the sounds emitted serve the woman not only to give directions to the partner on how to change the sexual rhythm and position but also, possibly, to warn him if he is doing something wrong.

In particular, from a research published in the journal Archives of Sexual Behavior in which 71 young and sexually active heterosexual women participated, it was found that for 66% of them moans and screams are used to accelerate the ejaculation of the partner (in case of tiredness, boredom or even limited time), while for 92% to improve the sexual self-esteem of the partner who is needed, in fact, to have a satisfying sexual relationship for both.
