I'm in Hamburg in Germany here It's winter wonderland right now because it was snowing a lot yesterday, and now it looks super nice Today New York is very windy, sometimes is sunny sometimes is very.... How do you say that?... Cloudy! All right today, we're going to do something really exciting on our last video We got some comments asking us about the real expenses of living in New York So we wanted to show you how expensive is New York compared to Germany? So we're gonna look at things you buy every day for example food or public transportation tickets We're not just gonna buy random things But we're gonna try to find the same products or go to the same kind of places in both cities It's even more interesting because New York is such an expensive city And Hamburg is also one of the most expensive cities in Germany at the end of the day We're gonna count all the money that each of us spent today together, and we're gonna see who spent more money and how big the difference is Let's do it.
I am in Manhattan. Let's go Now I'm gonna start from here, and I'm gonna take the train to the city center of Hamburg Na toll.. so I wanted to go with the car to the train station, but I cannot really see anything Looks much better, hey guys so first I'm going to the metro station to buy one single ride ticket, so you can see how expensive it is in New York Okay, guys. I took my car to the train station then we're going to see how much is a train ticket here in Hamburg? So my family is visiting Manhattan right now So I arrived at the centre of the city It's pretty cool today as you can see I don't know why this crappy boat is laying here So because it's so cold right now and because I'm actually pretty thirsty Let's go to Starbucks and buy something warm to drink.
Okay guys, so now I'm gonna go to Starbucks and Yeah, I'm gonna have the vanilla latte just like Janik So I got a tall vanilla latte It's actually their smallest size So I don't really understand why they call it tall now I only need some food for breakfast and for that we're gonna go to Subway Okay, we're walking we're gonna go to Subway I don't think you know this but I love to buy expensive headphones That's the one thing that I really really like, I have some beats I have had them for years now like for like five years or more So I feel like I need new headphones, and I've been telling Janik and I've been waiting for Janik to give them to me as a gift, but he's not doing it And I'm just I really want them, so I think I'm gonna buy them on my own But I need to figure out if they're more expensive in New York or in Germany So I hope janik has time to go to Best Buy or something just asked me to find out how? Expensive headphones are here in Germany because she wanted to buy beats headphones Since a very long time behind me there's an electronic store, and that's where I'm gonna go now to figure that out I'm gonna go here to B & H.
Which is a huge? Electronic store in New York, I'm gonna check, and I hope I can get new headphones and for the record This is not gonna be on the final list of expenses because that's not something that you usually buy everyday But we're just curious, so we're gonna go and figure that out anyways So there you have it Joss now you can figure out what is cheaper for you I'm going to have lunch, and we found out that in New York That's actually a vapiano like an Italian food restaurant, so let's find a vapiano. We're gonna order the same thing pasta arrabiata I'm a baby i don't know how to eat Mamma mia this is delicious Australian beauty so I'm going to meet a friend of mine now to watch the movie Black Panther I have the feeling that this round is going to go to Hamburg Because I know that in New York going to the cinema is really expensive.
I'm gonna let myself be surprised Okay guys, so we watched Black Panther, and it was so cool? I loved it I don't know If Janik liked it or not but for me was super cool So I just came out of the cinema and the movie was super cool it had really amazing shots in there And now I really want to go to Africa It's super cold and now the only thing that's missing is grocery shopping for that Joss and I are gonna prepare the same meal and we're gonna buy the same groceries. I'm so sorry I'm so dumb My phone is about to die and I forgot my charger, so I hope this video still recording but Now it's time to go to my groceries if I cannot show you the prices and the things that I'm buying I'm just gonna take notes and let you know later and We'll see hopefully it lasts long So now I'm in a supermarket and now we're gonna buy all the ingredients that we need for our dinner and Afterwards we're gonna count all the money together, and then we're gonna see in what city we spent more money today So guys Here I am I'm back in Munich as you can see and now it's time to compare the total Amounts of money that we spent on that day are you excited? I already made the counts yeah, so I'm not excited anymore, but it was exciting Here's the money that Joss spent in New York And here is the money that I spent in Hamburg now of course we have US Dollars and Euros But if we converted to the same currency we have these amounts in u.s..
Dollars Which is This amount in Euros and isn't that crazy as you can see the price difference is only Three dollars or three euros and when I saw this I was like What I gotta say I expected New York to be way more expensive than Hamburg because that's how I felt like when I was there But as you can see it's possible to spend pretty much the same amount of money in both cities.
If you buy the same things Here's the thing though we can obviously not generalize this we cannot say you will definitely spend the same amount of money in New York That you would spend in Hamburg because at the end of the day it really Depends on your lifestyle and to what places you go I'm pretty sure you will find plenty of things that are more expensive in New York as in Hamburg or maybe the opposite way around Who knows? but at least we can say that on that day for Those things that we bought we spend pretty much the same amount of money so in case you have been to those cities or you Are from those cities, and you have found big price differences then please leave it in the comments down below because we would Who's that Guys hey Look who came back Hey guys So why are you here already? because I couldn't afford to live in New York City Why not? we just found out that it's pretty much the same a lot of money .
