You walk in today and spot The Manager tapping on the wall opposite the bar, the one with the cuckoo clock. He spots you.
"Hey there, Traveler. Just setting up a little system here to help me make intergalactic rent. The Landlords really don't like it when it's late."
The cafe rumbles suddenly, as if in agreement. The Manager looks around and clears his throat. A customer walks in. Well, floats. It's a blue cloud with black tentacles writhing out of it. What they are attached to, if anything, is obfuscated within the cloud. You realize that you've seen this being, before.
"Ah, that's the Blue Henry. He'll be wanting his usual. Uh, do me a favor, Traveler. Keep an eye on the wall, will you? We put up a sign but you can never be sure."
The blue tentacle cloud floats up to the bar and starts making gargling noises.
"Ah, Blue Henry, my old friend, I'll be with you presently," The Manager says as he walks away. You step toward the wall, noticing that it does, in fact, look somehow different.
You have to put your face an inch away from it before you can finally see it: the wall is ever-so-slightly translucent. You're trying to puzzle out why this is the case when you notice a barely visible form move on the other side.
And there's something else. Sounds. You put your ear to the wall and hear something akin to gasps.
Tap, Tap
A tiny knock on the wall from the other side followed by a voice:
"Stop that, Beezelborp," it says chidingly. You remove your ear, perplexed.
"What do you think?" The Manager asks. "One-way visible wall. Also sound proof," he says with a smile.
Tap, Tap
You and The Manager exchange a glance. He shrugs his shoulders.
"Mostly, anyway."
