Background
What started out as an alter ego to produce other genres, is starting to become a staple on any album i produce. If given the opportunity i love putting instrumental interludes in songs and albums as a way to break up album flow and give the listener space to breathe.
This is my personal production off of Syntaxs' 2nd album of the year.
If you are on soundcloud be sure to shoot him a follow and give support to one of the hardest working and talented artists i have ever worked with.
Production
In terms of production, this track was rather simple. Using less than 20 tracks, the main ambience to the song is actually just captured audio of rain and a freeway mixed together.
Using serum i created what i would consider to be a standard future bass synths for chords, and took advantage of rotating add9 and add13 chords to give a light jazzy presence to the song.
I used what i would call "hollow sounding" drum samples, and coated the whole track in Izotope Vinyl to give an almost vaporwave feel to the song, with the Warp funtion turned on so that everything warps tuning like a damaged record.
