A logo is a name, mark or trademark of a company or organization, made up of text or symbols arranged to convey a clear and unique message. It leaves a greater and lengthier impact than words alone that's why it is the simplest and most direct method of advertising one's business. On the web, a well-marked and thought of logo decides whether your site is worth browsing. It is the first piece of graphics that visitors see, that is why it is important to make that moment count. Many people look for free logo design software so that they create their business logo. They do not want to hire a professional logo design to do the job for them. Creating a well-made logo is a must for all organization who want to upgrade its brand image. A good label adds a professional look to letterhead, business cards, and marketing materials. It is important for your logo to be unique and appropriate to your business.

Here are methods on how you could make a free logo:

Planning

The first time you designed a logo, factors like creativity, time, expenses, etc. played significant roles. Your logo should reflect what the company represents. Create a list of all the services or products the company supplies and try to find some common ground. Sit down and choose the colors you will be using. This is best achieved by studying the corporate colors and maybe adding a few more shades of these colors. Avoid very dark colors unless it is fit your company. If you send out a letter on headed paper to a customer, you will want your design to jump off the desk at them to remind them who you are. Remember that your logo may have to be very small (a business card) or very large (the side of a van) so whatever you come up with must be scalable. Try imagining your design as a small image and then as a large picture. If you are using lettering will it be readable at a small size?

Creating

Keep it simple. Look at any major brand in the world and see how mild their logos are. Look at what the competitors are doing. Do not copy somebody else's design. Sometimes I get me best insight from studying other people work and coming up with a unique one based on a concept they have used. As long as it is not a copy of somebody else's work you are not infringing copyright. Now start sketching some ideas on paper. When you have a design, do not overdevelop it. You should plan to have at least 10 to 15 draft before deciding 2 or 3 to work on further.

Developing

When you have chosen your two or three best ideas, ask some friends what they think. Use your friends and family to test your logo. Everybody loves to give their opinion on everything so use that to your advantage. Listen to what clients have to say about your designs, and you may learn something. Little things that you have not seen can be very obvious to someone that has never seen it before. Take a note of all the observation and go back to the drawing board. Look at what was said about every design and then, based on your feelings and the opinion you have gathered, decide which idea you are going to create more. Create a slightly more refined drawing, or if you have some computer skills, make up an approximate design using a graphics program. Unless you are either a graphic designer or a printer, employ a professional to finish the work to a high standard. Your logo will show on every bit of souvenir your company will ever produce, and if it does not look professional, then you do not look professional. You will have saved much money by developing the logo yourself, so it is now time to ask a professional to finish the work.

In conclusion, your logo is a visual representation of your company so whoever sees it will be able to associate its design with you and no one else. Hence, to avoid being confused with your competitor or being branded as unimaginative, use an image or typeface that is not too common. Avoid using a piece of clipart that you know can also be used by other people. Invent and innovate. That is the only way you can stand out.
