EASTERN SATELLITE
The stalling front presents issues for Wednesday. First the onshore flow returns as winds turn to the northeast. Temperatures will likely top out in the upper 50s and lower 60s. Then there is the issue of clouds developing. Sometimes enough dry air comes south from New England and we sit in partly sunny skies and I believe that is possible for the first part of the day. However the moisture flow will increase as the day wears on and we suspect clouds will start rolling in during the day. Any rain or showers should hold off until later Wednesday night and on Thursday.
The main push of showers will come Thursday night into Friday as the warm front struggles northward and then a cold front pushes in from the west Friday morning. Showers and downpours are likely Thursday and Friday. Temperatures Thursday will probably be not out of the 50s with the ocean flow. Friday we should see highs up into the 60s.
As long as everything moves along we should have a dry start to the weekend with some sunshine returning on Saturday. Sunday is Mother's day and the question is whether that high holds out long enough before another cold front comes in from the west with the likelihood of a wave developing on it. I'm thinking at this early stage that Sunday starts with some sun with arriving clouds and the chance for rain later in the day or perhaps holding off until evening.
Please note that with regards to any tropical storms or hurricanes, should a storm be threatening, please consult your local National Weather Service office or your local government officials about what action you should be taking to protect life and property.
