"Again, to know the burn" a poem of love lost to war

in love-lost •  6 years ago

My Darling, I think of you as I sit here, immersed in loneliness. I
Hope you do not think that, though I leave you, I love you any
Less. I am as attached to you as the buttons on your blouse.
Think of me, as you do simple things; as you move about
Our house. You are always with me, in the memory of
Your perfume;
it follows me from day to day, in
Everywhere I roam. I’ll cherish the thought
And hope that one day I will return, and
Together we will fall in love, again
To know the Fire, again to

“Know the Burn”
