Christian Studies about faith: "For you yourselves have been taught by God to love each other"

The first letter to the Thessalonians reminds us that those who live according to the commandment of love are those who please God: "As for others matters, brothers and sisters, we instructed you how to live in order to please God, as in fact you are living.", 1 Thessalonians 4:1. Pleasing God means living according to the spirit: "There is nothing that God loves more than people who are at home with Wisdom", Wisdom 7:28; also: "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.", Romans 8:28.
When we live according to the spirit, God enlightens us with his essence (Gnosis), that is, he prints wisdom and understanding in the heart and teaches us his love: "Now about your love for one another we do not need to write to you, for you yourselves have been taught by God to love each other", 1 Thessalonians 4:9

The love of God is a perfection, a divine quality, a charism, it cannot be acquired by practice or study like the virtue: "Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.", James 1:17
Jesus reminds us that this love, called Agape, is the love projected towards all of God's work: "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ´Love your neighbor as yourself´. All the law and the prophets hang on these two commandments." Matthew 22: 37-40.
This spiritual love or adult love, is a bond of love between believers: "But whoever is united with the Lord is one with him in spirit.", 1 Corinthians 6:17. This is the love that God teaches us by his mercy and grace, and which the epistle reminds us.
