Jesus explains to us that the love for God, the love of charity, is the fundament of ethics: "Love your neighbor as youself", explains in Mark 12:31.
The new commandment, love your neighbor as yourself, Mark 12,31.Exegesis.jpg
God is charity and from this happy and blessed love mercy and justice arises. Jesus when referring to love in the gospels always uses the greek word Agape, the spiritual love. The love of charity responds to the desire for the good.
The law of moises gives rise to the law of the spirit. The law of Moses implies the idea that we are all sinners, that we are subject to the desires of the flesh and that we are transgressors of the law. But Jesus explains to us that beyond the law, we can choose, between god and money, between the flesh and the spirit, between the sin and the rectitude.
The grace of God does not condemn us: correct and teaches. The love of charity is accompanied by a complementary law, a law of balance: "you reap what you sow".
When we choose to live according to God's law, the love for our neighbors, we are blessed and happy (Luke 6:20-23). The love of charity is always acting by ethical rules (Matthew 7:12). When we choose the sin, the error, we are curse (Luke 6:24-26).
Jesus makes numerous references to this love: "Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another", John 13:34; "There is no greater love than to lay down one's life to one's friends" John 15:13; "Remain in my love", John 15:9. We need to be born again to achieve this love: "You must be born again", John 3:7
This is the idea or the foundation of Christian ethics, not to condemn but to correct and teach to direct man towards the wisdom of God, the love of jesus is the love related to wisdom, the love of jesus carries within it the mysteries of the wisdom of the kingdom of god. The love is a force of union, we are one in charity.
Jesus invites us, calls us, to live ethically: "All things are lawful, but not all things are expedient. All things are lawful, but not all things edify. No one should seek their own good, but the good of others.", 1 Corinthians 10:23-25
The love of Jesus frees us from suffering and fear, and reveals to us the true nature of the universe and God: "no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again", John 3:3.
