There is a german word which has no direct translate in English - Sehnsucht - it means pining, longing, passionate yearning, a high emotional state of longing. My poem is written with this word in mind.
Just when you thought
you had tamed your gypsy heart
with donuts and pay slips
you have an unwise dream
about a stranger whose fingers
you cannot untangle from your own.
You find yourself painting your eyes
again like windows on caravans,
start looking beyond the horizon.
