Love Someone As They Are, Not As You Wish They Were

It baffles me why people always think they can change another person especially when it comes to relationships. It is a lie and never works.

If you cannot accept a person as they are then leave them alone because falling in love with potential rather than reality is usually delusion.

You may believe in someone and see potential and that's fine, but no one will ever change until they themselves desire to or see the need to.

People never change because of others, and if they try, it's always short lived because it's not coming from or driven from their inner being from where all real change comes from.

Just like when it comes to addiction, you may force people into rehab, but if they themselves do not desire to get clean, rehab will simply be a wasted experience because they will slip back and leave a trail of disappointment in their wake because of unrealistic expectations.

You can't change someone just because you love them. Love is a powerful force but it cannot be misused to get people to be what we desire.

Love accepts one as they are. And anything else is simply loves' reward. ☺
