Marriage to us represented the most efficient way to establish an administrative union to easily navigate the Dutch legal system as we wished for children to join our lives.
(Of course it was also an excellent reason to party hard with family and friends 😜).
So, on 4th of September 1999 (half a year after returning from our one year epic travels) we got married and partied at Zandvoort beach, the Netherlands.
Marc soon after followed his heart to be the entrepeneur he was born to be and I had re-entered the world of mergers and acquisitions at an international law firm.
I stopped taking 'the pill' and we were all set for the next chapter in our lives.
And then, in 2005, we turned our world upside down and inside out again.
