So, this is a story that's being covered incorrectly from all directions.

Lucky is far from being a pornographic book. It's an autobiography about a rape that the author suffered which incidentally led to the wrongful conviction and incarceration of Anthony Broadwater. Actually, I kinda wish that this book were assigned to every high school student in the country to facilitate discussion about the importance of due process.

That said, the school board showed shocking hypocrisy by shutting off the mic of a parent attempting to read excerpts from the book by saying that it would be a violation of law to have him read those passages which are readily available for his kid(s) to read.

Both the government and the parent are wrong. The government is much more wrong; but, we have to acknowledge that the parent is protesting the availability of a book that every high schooler should be able to handle despite its content.
