Lyft and Drive.ai to deploy stand-alone cars in San Francisco

The Lyft program will allow the public to become familiar with the technology of autonomous vehicles, in addition to favoring the tests in real urban environments.

The car sharing platform Lyft has partnered with Drive.ai , a startup that applies artificial intelligence to freelance cars , to deploy these vehicles in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Autonomous technology still is not here yet but we are moving towards it rapidly. It is encouraging to see the governments get on board and starting to move their regulatory process forward. Typically, tech outpaces the regulators and adopters. It seems only the general public is lagging.

A program like this will really help people to get accustomed to the technology.
