I was asked what I thought about the proposal to give interest to 'investor class' whales.
This was defined as accounts above 8,000usd.
My answer is an absooloooterley not!
A clear, and emphatic, NO!
Mostly for this reason: That is some first class crapitalism there.
Everybody wants to live off the interest on their interest.
All want to consume without producing, it is the highest sacrament of the fascist economic religion.
However, he who eats without producing is a leach.
A leach that consumes other humans.
Crapitalism is cannibalism.
If whales want to mitigate against inflation they should join our community as 'normal' folks and share in the love with the rest of us.
Rather than engage in repression of the masses, how about helping us reach the stars?

Lord knows how many this century, and they won't be stopping until we 'LOCK HER UP!!'
They will just fade back into the background until the sleeple return to their slumber, as we all know they will, unless we seize TODAY to put a stop to it.
Folks are more awake today than at any point I've ever known.
I've been gen x'n it for a long time, now.
And the phrase 'we are winning' has never been this backed by facts.
So, again, I came up, no.
Partly I don't like the idea because I don't want to have to stop playing a major part of the game when I get there.
Lots of folks with 8000usd in the bank, when we replace the banks, due our loving community and sound money, there will be tooooo many whales of that level to shout down, and the math will have to change.
Better that we get it right now.
Another reason I don't like it is because @dan is a frickin' genius, and I ain't, so we should stick with his original plan as closely as we can, imo.
Logically, it isn't a sound policy.
It is physically impossible to pay back what hasn't been created.
IF the whales are asking for a return of what inflation has taken from them to pay the rest of us we can't give them back more than we take.
Just as the federal reserve cannot be repaid because the money doesn't exist.
They only create principal, the repayment of interest that does occur does so from leftovers from the bankruptcies.
The dollars in your pocket are dollars profited from resale of goods from the fire sales of the unfortunate.
We can't make the whales whole, again.
We used the inflation to pay for the game.
Currently the only way to mitigate against inflation losses is the draining of the curation pool.
And that only works for the few, the masses still have to post to stay even with our inflationary losses.

I would rather see an incentive to hodl sp by authors.
If you could get more weight added to the vote I give you because you hodl more steem, wouldn't that make the game more interesting to you?
It would also give the whales an incentive to buy, and be loving members of the community.
The incentive wouldn't have to be a lot, but it would go up with each X number of sp.
We can never give enough interest to mitigate against the inflation, we can share the love by voting posts of whales that we like.
This is getting tldr, and my attention span tends to drift, sooo, if you got strong feelings, either way, feel free to share them in the comments.
