Allium Flower • Macro Photography

flower_macro.jpg

I captured this allium late in the afternoon yesterday with some great backlight courtesy of the sun. The flower is well past it's prime but the remaining structure with its mix of green and pink is still compelling in a macro shot.

And in black and white...

All about the structure!

I photographed the allium with my Canon 5D camera and 70-200 mm lens.

Thank you @juliank for creating @photocontests!

It looks very good in color and reminded me of broccoli.

Thanks! This flower is from the onion or chive family.

Gorgeous macro! I love the colors!

Past its prime but interesting nonetheless!

It's a bit of a complicated description for me. LOL

Let me translate: Dead Flower!

This time I like the coloured one best @otage.

I think you'd do well int he petals contest with this one. All the winners seem to be close ups with out of focus backgrounds. Not something I can achieve on my phone. 😢

Thanks! You will need a macro or telephoto lens to achieve a shallow depth of field. They do sell attachment lens that will work on your smartphone.

Yeah. I've been looking at the lenses but couldn't make up my mind which to get so ended up not getting on @otage! 😊

i'll look again when I have some time.

Macro will be the best if you want flower shots!

Beautiful flower and great composition!

Thanks!

That's really cool dear..upvote
