ʚ♡ɞ Magical March 2018 #2: Pokèmon ❀

Hi there!!! Monday is here and I’m finally feeling a little bit better for posting. Originally, this post started this way: “Today is saturday but my body doesn’t feel that way. I catched a horrible cough and I fell asleep until almost 13Hrs in my country’s time. Anyway I’m quite excited with this challenge so last night I didn’t get into bed until I finished this Magical March’s illustration “.

Para el día #2 está propuesto un Pokèmon-chica-mágica y he escogido a la lindura de Mimikyu para la ocasión. Es un pokèmon tipo fantasma que sufre por estar en soledad y quiere parecerse a Pikachu porque dada su notable popularidad. Acá está un cover de un rap donde puedes aprender más sobre Mimikyu, está hecho por una youtuber que me gusta un montón: LilyPichu <3

For 2nd day the proposed theme is a Pokèmon-Magical-Girl and I chose a lovely Mimikyu for it. Mimikyu is a phantom type Pokèmon who suffers being so lonesome so it tries to mimic Pikachu who is quite popular. Here’s a cover of a Mimikyu rap where you can learn more, it was made by a Youtuber I like a lot: LilyPichu

Illustration process:

Como siempre, todo inicia con el boceto, uso lápiz H porque me permite estructurar y añadir detalles que puedo borrar fácilmente tras usar marcadores.

As I usually start, here’s a sketch made with H pencil. I like to use it since it allows me to get both structure and details which I can easily erase after making the linework.

El delineado estuvo a cargo de estos marcadores ultrafinos Paper Mate:

I made the linework with Paper Mate ultrafine markers:

El coloreado tuvo lugar con marcadores Sharpie punta fina:

For coloring I used fine Sharpie markers:

Un fondo sencillo hecho pacientemente con franjas a marcador Paper Mate violeta:

I made a simple background with a violet Paper Mate marker and lots of patience:

Para añadir algo de textura usé tramas para el interior de la capa de Mimikyu:

I wanted to add some texture for Mimikyu’s cape so I made some linework for that too:

Fue sencilla, pero muy entretenida de hacer. Estoy algo enferma de tos, así que no me he sentido muy bien para trabajar, aún así, espero brindarles más de este reto y ponerlos al día con las ilustraciones respectivas a cada día, entre hoy y mañana.

This was a simple yet very entertaining illustration. I’m still kind of sick so I haven’t feel well for working. Anyway I hope to share with you more of this challenge and catch up with it between this day and tomorrow.
