Ten Days of Reflection: Challenge Day 1. Original photography.

in magicalmoments •  7 years ago  (edited)

Ten.
Days of Reflection.
Stones and fragments of crystal.
Violet amethyst and marmalade amber.
Underwater. Fern fronds dried in the summer sun.
~Ally.

I first saw the Ten Days of Reflection Challenge created by @ilovedietcoke when @sunscape shared her beautiful image of Nature's Beauty at the lake

I've always loved reflections, especially in water. And even though I've promised myself time and space to update Earth ♥︎ Sand ♥︎ Water ♥︎ Ice there's nothing like a challenge like this one now, to inspire me to create more 'time.'

In my ephemeral art work, I'm presently working with the symbol for both infinity and eternity. And so I'm thinking along the lines of 'Infinity on ice' because often as the ice begins to melt, some very subtle reflections can appear.

For now, I'd like to share some other works where elements of nature gently touching or being touched by water, create tiny but exquisite reflections.

The rules of the challenge are simple and can be found HERE.

I nominate @intrepidphotos or anyone else who would like to participate in this challenge.

Thank's so much @ilovedietcoke for creating this inspiring #tendaysofreflection challenge where the beauty of reflections: Whether they be in nature or the 'material world' can be highlighted for all to enjoy.

Hi @allyinspirit! You have received 0.1 SBD tip + 0.05 SBD @tipU from @dswigle :)

Check out new tipuvote! feature :)

These are such beautiful shots, Ally! I hope to see your reflections as they are rolled off the press.

Thank you for your inspiring beauty! tip!

I appreciate the tip from @tipu so much Denise, as for me it reflects your appreciation of these images.

When I first started to work with frozen flowers, I was totally infatuated by the visual effects. It was a 'perfect fit' with my love of layers and transparencies in art works. However it wasn't a 'perfect fit' with my feelings for nature.

So I started to only use rocks and stones and natural materials that had already started to 'fade' within the ice and other natural materials on the surface.

This was one of the first pieces that I worked with in this way. I'm not sure what my next reflection/s will be yet but I'm so pleased you like these ones to start with. 🦋

Lovely and beautiful!

Thanks Kalemandra.

Was one of my favourite ice works. I'm so pleased you like it. I hope 2018 is a creative and very colorful year for you. 🦋

MAGICAL MOMENTS.png

Magnificent as always Ally <3 Thank you for providing space for me to take a moment to step outside of time & deeply injoy your Soul-Full artworks.

Namaste

Such a heartfelt compliment @thereikiforest. Thank YOU much. As artists our own work can touch us as we are in the space of connection to 'creation.' And then it's wonderful to know that others are receptive to this space in the work.

I know you have your own 'challenge' ~ Which I'll participate in as soon as I start my new ephemeral work again. But wondering if the theme of 'reflection' might be an inspiration to you? 🦋

MAGICAL MOMENTS.png

Thank you Ally <3 I look forward to seeing your creations and have no doubt that inspiration will flow as always :)

The theme of reflection is very much on my mind these days....I do foresee myself accepting the cosmic wink to touch on that subject in (near) future postings. I'm just integrating some long and hard learned lessons...but as soon I as I 'come out' on the other side....I will be sharing my 'reflections' <3

Love You SiStar ~ Reiki Hugs

Look forward to when you receive the cosmic wink @thereikiforest.

I think 2017 was quite a heavy going year for some people. And there was much to learn from it all. Like you, I feel like I'm still integrating much of it and have the feeling much is working its way out without me even being aware of it.

And the feeling is there that 2018 will be an incredible year for those who have already worked with a lot of their 'areas.' 'Things' will start to really flow and flower.

Take good care SiStar. 💖

I like these shots!

So pleased you like these images @old-guy-photos. The reflections are minute, but they are definitely there. 🦋

That violet flowers are beautiful, fern and pine cones make additional point of interest.

The violet flowers are small sections of hydrangeas. Love working with them in my assemblages Di.

The dried ferns came from a 'mini rainforest' I've been building in my own garden and the tiny pine cones are from an Australian native She Oak tree growing in the local bush. All beautiful elements to compliment and harmonise with each other. 🦋

Love the challenge. Not sure if I have time to do it at the moment ! ... thats the challenge in itself.

I totally understand Robert. It's been like that for me every time, without exception when I've started a new Steemit challenge.

Just about every challenge I've participated in, I've broken the rules. The 'every day' rule is generally the first to fly out the window.

But in a decentralised arena ~ I don't know if anyone is going to jump on anyone who likes to vary the rules to suit themselves and their lifestyle with other commitments ~ As long as they are not causing harm to anyone else. Least that's the way I see it.

So just keep it in the back of your mind perhaps ~ But definitely no pressure. 🦋

The violet picture does uplift me in a warm and subtile way...wonderful reflections my sweet dear Ally ! ^_^

So pleased that these images touched you like that Barbara. I've always loved actual reflections as well as artistic and meditative reflections. So it was easy to gravitate to this challenge.

Just wondering. Does Luigi like to sit by the pond and gaze at his own reflection? Or maybe any of the Wonkies? If so I'd love to invite you both to participate in the #tendaysofreflection

Beautiful images! Thanks for sharing and participating in #tendaysofreflection

Thanks so much Katie. Such a pleasure to contribute to your #tendaysofreflection challenge.

I've always loved reflections ~ In ocean rockpools and shallow creek beds especially. So it's a challenge that's close to my heart.

Thanks so much for creating and sharing it. I know it will be extremely popular. 🦋

You never cease to amaze me with your artistry. I love your reflections photos and your new years Mantra for 2018 is so spot on!!!!!! We have all the time we need. xoxo

Thank you so much @sunscape

I really loved the subtle reflections in the earlier stage where I had the idea of assimilating a forest floor on ice. Enhanced the blue just a little with Lightroom or the reflections may not have been visible.

May you have all the time and space you need today and always. I think we'll probably keep reminding each other now throughout our NEW year. 🦋

MAGICAL MOMENTS.png

Love the details of the pictures :)

Great to meet another lover of detail Gabriela. The reflections in these images are pretty subtle, so you really do have to look for them in the details. 🦋

MAGICAL MOMENTS.png

Indeed, thanks :)

Wonderful photography

Thanks so much @bestahasan2017

MAGICAL MOMENTS.png

Thanks

So beautiful post dear Ally! Glad you're back :)

Thanks so much Maya. It feels wonderful to be back again. I love IG and I'm trying to find that 'perfect balance' between here and there.

I loved seeing your Mundane Art images today for 'Sand.' The idea of the mundane being aesthetic, depending on how we perceive it, has been a big part of my own image making.

As with many of the current challenges at Steemit, the invitation to participate in the #tendaysofreflection is very open. But if you would like to be nominated, I'd love to nominate you. 🦋
