SLC S21W1 | Cleaning, face types and implements necessary to do good makeup.

Greetings and welcome to my blog. Today it’s the day of enhancing our beauty through makeup. Am glad to be a part of this beautiful class. Thank you for the eye opening lecture.

According to what was established in the previous module, analyze what type of skin you have, how you should take care of it, and what type of products you should use for that type of skin.

From the lecture explanation about the types of skin, I have a normal skin. It’s not too oily and it’s not dry either.

Some tips I use to take care of my skin;

• I use mild facial cleanser to remove dirt, and oil and makeup from my face.

• To keep my face feeling fresh and moist I use a moisturizer.

• I try to exfoliate at least once in a week to remove dead skin cells.

• I drink Plenty of water, eat fruits and vegetables as they are good for the skin.

• Sunscreen that contains SPF is good for the face as it helps to protect the skin from aging and damage.

Show us a personal photograph, in which you must explain the shape of your face and also tell us how you should contour and illuminate according to your specific shape.

I have an an oval face. For an oval face I would contour my chin areas as indicated by the black arrows while I would illuminate my forehead, under my eyes and my jaw as indicated by the areas marked red.

According to the implements necessary to achieve good makeup, which of them did you know before and which ones do you use frequently; did you use them correctly? Which do you think are really essential when applying makeup? Explain your answer.

From the class, I know some of the implements necessary to achieve a good makeup and the ones I have. I have been using them rightly as taught by the teacher and they include;

The eye brow brush and the fan brush: Use in combing out or aligning the brows awhile the fan brush is used to remove excess loose powder or eye shadow from the face.

The concealer brush and Beauty blender:
The concealer brush or flat cut comes in different sizes for applying liquid or compact powered. This is the concealer brush, my beauty blender is not handy.

Foundation brush: This thick brush is used to apply foundation powder.

Large fluffy brush and small detail brush: The fluffy brush is used to apply blush or loose power while the small detail brush is for applying eye shadow or details around the eyes.

According to what was explained in the previous module, if you need to apply concealer (a liquid or cream product) to correct an imperfection, which of the implements do you think you could use for its application and which for its blending. Explain your answer.

To correct an imperfection, I would be using the concealer brush. It’s comes in different sizes. The one in the picture is a small brush concealer and for blending my make up, I would use the beauty blender. This is specially used to blend the make up and give it a good sitting to the skin.
