Happy Tuesday!!
I am excited to show off the look I did last weekend using the Lemonade Craze pallet by Maybelline. It features the color Ice Pop and Lemonade Craze as my main colors of notice. I really love how it turned out, so let me show you just how I did it.
First up you will need to get some setting spray. I really wanted the yellow color to stand out and pop, so you will need it to really get the pigment the bright sunny yellow color you see in the pan.
The first thing I did was I used concealer on my lids and then went into Sunnies and applied it all over from my lashline to my browbone.
Next I went in with Lemonade Craze and applied it all over my lid and thru my crease and transition area.
I went into the hot coral color called Ice Pop and applied it into my crease but I kept it slightly lower than the Lemonade Craze color and I brought it out a little higher in the outer V.
I next went into Old Fashioned and deepened up my outer V, but making sure to allow the Ice Pop to still have the full attention. BTW: If you want the Old Fashioned to be darker, you will want to get the setting spray out and mist the brush after getting shadow on it...this will deepen it up further. I did not do that to this look because I wanted the Ice Pop to take center stage in my outer V so I wanted just the deepening effect from the Old Fashioned.
The day I did this look was the day of Caleb's birthday party....so he's trying to get me to hurry up. Even though it was hours until the party....I think he was just excited and wanted to play around. :)
Anyway, I took Sugar Coated and patted it in the middle of my lid.
I then patted Strawberry Lemonade on top of Sugar Coated.....I just like the effect it gave when mixing the two colors. Plus it helps to make the transition of colors from the bright coral of Ice Pop to the lid and eventually inner lid which is the Lemonade Craze.
Here's where I started to feel that I was losing the yellow color too much. So I took my blending brush and applied a bit more of Lemonade Craze to the transition area to make it peek out a bit.
I took a flat brush and got the Lemonade Craze on the brush, sprayed it with setting spray and packed it on the inner third of my lid. This was where I really wanted the yellow to come alive in my look....and I think it did that really well with the setting spray.
I went with a dark brown pencil liner in my inner rim and then I smudged it out with a pencil brush and Old Fashioned.
This pallet is a lot like the City Minis fro Maybelline.....therefore, they have some crazy fallout.....Its no deal breaker for me but it may be for some....So I just use some concealer to clean up my mess and I followed it up with brown liquid liner.....we are going to need to talk about this new Physician's Formula Eye Pen in Brown soon....I have some much need to spill thoughts about it. ;)
I applied mascara, bronzer, blush (Elf in Candid Coral) and my lipstick (Revlon Ultra Matte in HD Flare) and that was all there was to the look.
I was really surprised at how beautiful this look came out. I haven't formed full thoughts on this pallet yet....I think that will come after doing a few more looks with it. Otherwise the shadows perform much like the City Mini pallets and I like the formula of those. But that will another post when we go through all the pros and cons.
And there you have it....my Ice Pop look using the new Maybelline Lemonade Craze pallet. I really hope you enjoyed it and will come back and visit me again. I have another post in the works using the Too Faced Sweet Peach pallet on one eye and the Covergirl Peach Punch on the other and see if you can spot which is high end and which is drugstore. I'm not completely done yet, plus I have a few reviews coming of the highlight, blush and bronzer Peach Punch pallet from Covergirl and I will show you how it compares to the Sweet Peach blush, bonzer and highlight from Too Faced. So be on the look out for all of those coming soon.
I want to thank you for taking the time to visit me and my boys here at 523. You don't have to use your time to read my post, but I am so very thankful that you do!! I hope you all have a beautiful Tuesday and I will see you again tomorrow.
Until next time, take care.
