It's all about the magic of travelling with the Ipsy bag for May. It starts out with a very cute bag that has world stamps all over it.
Next up is the Tony Moly Sebum Black Coal Mask: I have been trying out this little mask and have to say it's a great find!! It does have good oil control on your skin for about two days....at least for me. By the third day, my oil production was back to it's normal range. It didn't dry out my skin, nor did it feel uncomfortable when I had it on my face.
Yes, Scooby is trying to lick the mask off...don't fear, I didn't let him.
Another item I received with the Nyx Soft Matte Cream lipstick in Abu Dhabi. This is a very brown nude color, it's actually a little bit brown-er than my natural lips, but not by much. I really adore this color. Ironically I would have never picked up this color because of the tube color. It looks too brown for me, but I was pleasantly surprised by the actual color. The wear on it is average, I have had many of these matte creams from Nyx and I am well aware of their formula and wear time.
Next item is by Pretty Woman, it's a nail polish in the color Electric Love. I applied it on a Friday, with no top coat and by Monday I saw the first signs of chipping. I thought that was decent for three days with out using a top coat. The color is a gorgeous electric purple color. I only applied it to my finger nails but I am thinking it will be a perfect toenail color!!
Ok, up next we have an eyeshadow brush by SLS Miss Glam. If you have ever seen her youtube channel you will know that this lady steals my pink loving heart. She's super sweet on her channel and loves everything girly, blingy and pink. I have never tried any of her brushes but have always wanted to. I was excited to get a brush from the Ipsy bag this month. It's teal and purple with rhinestones on the ferrel. As for the usage of it, I think it's just as good as any other brush. It didn't shed on my face and it seems very sturdy, but I think that time will be the real test to see if it holds up to washing. But for now it's a good brush and an all around multitasking brush, and I really like that.
Alrighty, we are on the home stretch...the last item I received was the Elizabeth Mott Pop Goes the Shadow in Mermaid Teal. I wasn't too fond of this shadow. I really thought the pigment would be better. It gave just a wash of teal on your eyes. It may be made to only be a light wash of color, but I would have preferred a full on pigmented teal.
I used the teal on my lower lash line, paired with a neutral eye look on the lid. I added the Nyx soft matte lipstick for a very nude lip.
For my final thoughts, I liked the bag, but have so many that it will be donated. I LOVED the Tony Moly mask, and the lip cream. The brush is a nice touch and beautiful to look at and the polish is a nice and easy formula to work with plus the color is fantastic. However the shadow was not one that I was over the moon about, it just lacked pigment to me.
And there you have it, my May Ipsy bag review. I enjoy receiving Ipsy, it's a very inexpensive way to try out new products and things that I have never heard of before. Plus it's fun to get stuff in the mail.
If you want to check out ipsy for yourself, you can use my link, it will not pay me any money, it will only give me points that can be redeemed for free or discounted items. But you don't have to use my code at all, just if you want to.
