I've got my Ipsy bag for the month of June and so excited to share with you just what I got.
Okie dokie, let's start out with the first item. The Ofra Blush in Melon
Oh this is such a beautiful color!! I can't think of a more perfect color for summer than a melon color. The blush is so perfectly pigmented.....well let's back that up a bit. It's VERY pigmented....so if you aren't careful you will look like a perfect clown. Just be careful and very light handed. But its a gorgeous color!! I used it in the photo below.....uumm, there might have been a bit of loose powder blended with it, because I didn't heed my own warning and went on applying like any ole blush. So it's sheered out below...
Next up is the pure brazillian leave in spray conditioner.
Well the claims are that it retains keretin in your hair and helps to protect it from heat, sun, chlorine and salt. While I haven't a single clue as to whether or not it will protect against those items, I do feel that it helps control the frizz slightly after my blow drying. It's almost like a thin lotion that comes out of the spray and coats you hair. But I have very fine hair and it does NOT weigh it down like thick leave ins typically would do.
Its says it smells like coconut but to me is a very faint smell. Therefore, its not overpowering on scent. It detangles my hair quite nicely and the spray seems to work well, especially for as thick as it is. I really don't have any negative on the product working abilities.
The only thing I'd warn you with on this product is when you spray it, make sure to be standing either on a towel, rug or carpet of some kind. Or at least wipe down the hard floors because this stuff will stick to them and make it VERY slippery.
Ok, next product is the Cake Beauty Desserted Island Supreme body mousse.
This is an all over body "mousse" as they call it. I didn't see a difference in texture between a regular lotion and this one, so I'm apparently not too versed in "body mousse" textures. It did make my skin soft as it stated and I did like that it sunk into my skin pretty quickly.
The smell is one to note. I used this last Friday morning and after taking Caleb to the donut shop, I kept thinking I was smelling cinnamon rolls. I seriously thought it was the donut shop scent lingering but come to find out it was actually this lotion. LOL I smelled like cinnamon rolls that Friday and then I used the lotion again on Saturday and again was confirmed that it was the lotion smelling like baked goods. LOL
Item number four is a blush brush from Firma Beauty.
This was the blush brush I used to apply the Ofra blush with. I am ok with this brush except I would prefer it to be a little bit shorter on the bristles. I have a hard time controlling long bristled brushes. It's probably just an issue I have personally but it is what it is. So anyways, I think it's high quality and the bristles haven't shed at all. The handle is very sturdy as well as the ferrel. So my only complaint is the length of the bristles.
Last item in my bag was the Benefit Porefessional pore minimizing face primer.
I am no stranger to the Benefits primers. I have tried them all from the mattifier to the pore minimizer. This one does work well to minimize my pores, I will say that for sure. Because of my oily skin, it's hard for me to use it however. My makeup will slide right off my skin with this one. It's got that silicone feel to it that I believe makes my skin produce more oil. I have heard many people claim to love this primer and I feel that it could really work nicely on someone with normal or dry skin. Unfortunately it just doesn't work on mine.
Well, so far my soft skin smells like the donut shop, my pores have been minimized, my cheeks melon-y, my hair protected and floors slippery all from this month's Ipsy bag. I thought it was so fun to try out this months products and I can't wait until next month.
My heart throbes for the month were most definitely the blush and conditioner. I did enjoy the lotion very much, but it's not in my best interest to be craving donuts all day, so I personally would pass on that one. But overall it was a pretty good bag and very well worth the $11 I paid for it.
If you want to check out Ipsy for yourself you can use my link. There is no pressure to use it, but if you do I really do appreciate it.
I hope you enjoyed today's post and will be back again tomorrow. I still have Boxy Charm left to review and there was some fun stuff in that box that you won't want to miss.
Until next time, take care!
