Cosmetics are care substances used to enhance the appearance or odor of the human body. They are generally mixtures of chemical compounds, some being derived from natural sources, many being synthetic.
MAKEUP TYPES:
Cosmetics include skincare, creams, lotions, powders, perfumes, lipsticks, fingernails, and toenails polish, eye and facial makeup, towelettes, permanent waves, coloured contact lenses, hair colors, hairsprays and gels, deodorants, hand sanitizer, baby products, bath oils, bubble baths, baths salts and many others products. A subset of cosmetics is called "Makeup" , which refers primarily to coloring products intended to alter the users appearance. Many manufacturers distinguish between decorative cosmetics and care cosmetics.
Most cosmetics are distinguished by the area of the body intended for application.
PRIMER comes in various formulas to suit individual skin condition.
LIPGLOSS is a sheer, liquid form of lipstick.
CONCEALER makeup is used to cover any imperfections of the skin.
FOUNDATION is used to smooth out of face and cover spots or uneven skin coloration.
FACE POWDER is used to set the foundation, giving it a matte finish, and also to conceal small flaws or blemishes.
ROUGE blush or blusher is cheek coloring used to bring out the color in the cheeks and make the cheekbones appear more defined.
CONTOUR POWDER/CREAMS, are used to defines the face. They can be used to give the illusiin of a slimmer face or to modify a persons face shape in other desired ways.
HIGHLIGHTER, used to draw attention to the high points of the face as well as to add glow to face, comes in liquid, cream, and powder forms.
BRONZER, is used to give skin a bit of color by adding a golden or bronze glow.
MASCARA, is used to darken, lighten, and thicken the eyelashes.
EYELASH GLUE, is used to adhere false lashes to tye eyes.
EYEBROW PENCIL, creams, waxes, gels, and powders are used to color and defines the brows.
NAIL POLISH, is used to color the fingernails and toenails.
SETTING SPRAY, is used to keep applied makeup intact for long period of time.
EYELINER, is used to enhance and alongate the size of the eye.
SKIN TYPES:
There are five basic skin types, including:
NORMAL SKIN- This type of skin has a fine, even and smooth surface due to its ideal balance between oil and moisture content and is therefore neither greasy nor dry.
DRY SKIN- Dry skin has a parched appearance and tends to flake easily.
OILY SKIN- As its name implies, this types of skin surface is slightly to moderately greasy, which is caused by the over secretion of sebum.
COMBINATION SKIN- This is the most common type of skin. As the bame suggests, it is a combination of both oily and dry or normal skin where certain areas of tye face are oily and the others dry.
SENSITIVE SKIN- Sensitive skin has a tendency to react to many potential triggers with irritation, redness, stinging or burning, flaking, Lumpiness and rashes.
COSMETIC INDUSTRY:
The manufacturers of cosmetics id currently dominated by a small number of multinational corporation that originated in the early 20th century, but the distribution and sale of cosmetics is spread among a wide range of different businesses. The worlds largest cosmetic companies are the Loreal group. The Procter & Gamble compan, Unilever, Shiseido Company, limited and estee Lauder companie, Inc.
