It is just like the paper visa that you attain to travel to various parts of the world. However, the difference is that all the processing takes place over the internet and it is digitally linked to your passport which makes it far easy to attain as compared to the other forms of visa.

Types of visas for Indians

There are three primary types of eVisa available to Indians that look forward to travel to Malaysia. These visas are valid for as long as three months. These include:

  • eNTRI Visa: This is a visa which allows an individual to enter the Malaysia once only. The single entry would facilitate the stay for as long as 15 days. One is required to use this visa within 3 months of issuance as it will become null and void after the time has passed. Do note that if you are travelling on Indian passport, you can acquire it only if you are travelling to Malaysia from India, Singapore, or Brunel. You can apply for this kind of visa only once in three months. The visa alone will cost you around 1800 to 2000 INR.
  • SEV 30 days: This is a single entry visa, SEV, which is there to facilitate your stay for as long as 30 days. You need to return within the given time span as your visa will render void after 30 days pass by. Again this visa is valid for 3 months after the issuance date. The benefit of SEV over eNTRI visa is that you can travel to Malaysia on Indian passport from anywhere across the world. Unlike eNTRI, there are no restrictions of accessing the land from a certain location. It will cost you about 3200 INR.
  • MEV 30 days: This is the multiple entry visa which permits you to gain multiple entries to Malaysia on Indian passport. This one is also valid for 30 days only as you enter the Malaysian territory and will render expired after 3 months of issuance. During the trip, you can enter and exit Malaysia as many time as required. The costs for MEV and SEV are more or less the same.
  • Do note that the costs of the visa stated above may vary with time. Also, the agents will add their service charges and taxes etc. which may lead to an increased overall payment for visa.
