Tonight is the eve of the first Adelaide steemit catch-up. The event is hosted by @mattclarke who has not only pulled the mallsballers, Adelaide's steemit users, together but has kindly offered to put on a BBQ with some beverages to wash it all down. What a champ! The event will be held at Bonython Park just west of the city. The park boasts 17 hectare's of parkland with walking and bike trails, a playground, boating lake and a kiosk. It's a magnet for families looking to spend some quality time in the outdoors.
I haven't met Matt yet, nor any other steemit user other than my family members however he has made many comments on my posts and we have interacted on steemit a little. I'm planning to turning up, meeting some new people and seeing how things play out. I have convinced my wife to come along. She's not on steemit but she understands how much I enjoy writing on the platform so is happy to support me by joining me at the catch up. I'm looking forward to meeting some other #mallsballers and if you're wondering what the name refers to...Well, in The CBD open-air-shopping mall is a sculpture of a couple of big balls. They stand 4 meters high and were created by Bert Flugelman. The Spheres as they are officially known were erected in 1977. I was a kid of 7 but remember the hype. From the day they were erected they became the place to meet and it's not uncommon to hear an Adelaidian say, "I'll meet you at the Mall's balls." And so, we're the mallsballers.
Matt has arranged to record the event with photos and video, I think, so am sure there'll be a post or two about the catch -up. The weather is looking ike 24 degrees and sunny with a possibly shower or two later in the afternoon. I doubt It'll trouble us. I'm not sure how many will join us but I'm pretty sure we'll have a great time...I mean, we're Adelaidians after all. It's what we do.

Not sure @aldczak. @mattclarke arranged the first one which was good. I assume something will come up in the new year. Feel free to start the process mate, we’ll get behind it. Work on a central location and a time that might suit the bulk of people. A pub for a brew would be a good idea.
