I woke up on January 1st 2017 after a weird date the night before not knowing this was going to be a strange and exciting year. As I was scrolling through my feed on facebook I saw a post about a movie I remember from my childhood where the actor Sinbad played a genie. I clicked the link out of nostalgia only to find out this movie I recall having fond memories of from my childhood, never existed. I searched imdb.org only to be amazed that the movie was not listed. I asked my brother and dad about it, who both remembered the movie. This didn't make any sense to me, but the article mentioned something called 'The Mandella Effect'. So I started googling and youtubing this Mandella Effect to see what I could find.
This is a fake cover created after the popularization of the mandella effect
Chik-Fil-A, Chic-Fil-A, Chick-Fil-A?
I remember the first time I went to Chik-Fil-A with my brother, or at least that was how I recall it being spelled. I don't think this is a false memory either because I remember thinking how odd it was that they spelled the word Chick, Chik, and pointed it out to the friends and family I was with. There's millions of people who also remember the spelling of this restaurant being different, most of which recall the spelling Chic-Fil-A.
Major logos look weird to me now
A lot of major logos don't look the same as I recall them looking. KitKat, I remember as Kit-Kat.
Ford doesn't look right to me at all.
I remember the ford logo on top, but apparently, it has never been that way. That weird looking curly Q ont he F has apparently always been there. Yet all my memories of the logo look like the one above it.
I remember the VW logo on the right, but apparently every VW logo has had the separation between the V and the W. This one blew my dads mind. He was into architecture, design, art, and distinctly remembers the logo without the space.
I remember watching this movie again a few years back and noticing something weird about this scene, but I didn't catch what it was until the mandella effect brought it up. Darth Vader never says the most famous line in star wars history, at least not in this reality. While we're talking about famous movie lines that never got said, in silence of the lambs, Hannibal never says "Hello Clarisse."
I got a list of 59 mandella effects that I have noticed, I'll post more in the future. I use this list to test people as to whether they are experiencing the effect before I tell them about it. I haven't met anyone who isn't experiencing the effect. I have come across a lot of theories about why this may be happening, but I will save that for a later post. For those who are familiar with the effect, I'm curious what effects you experience, and what you think may be the cause?
For the skeptics, I am not really looking for a debate, we can agree to disagree.
