Fire pot of the sea.

We have mangrove crabs, my men went fishing this weekend.
We have all the vegetables for a pot au feu, go ahead and I'll try a recipe a little crazy pot au feu de la mer, with mangrove crabs.

Tonight is just the two of us, Ninni and I, so I'll give you the quantities for two.

The recipe is easy and can easily be done with your children to prepare Chinese New Year's Eve.

Ingredients:

  • 1 small crab, Ninni does not eat more animals so ... it will only be for me, nevertheless you can put 2 small or a big for 2 and you can replace it with a cake
  • 2 potatoes
  • 1 carrots
  • 2 branches of celery
  • 2 small leeks
  • 1 large onion (if you do not react to sulphites and of course all other vegetables are organic and local!)
  • 1 bouquet garni
  • Flower of salt
  • 2 beautiful leaves of thyme martiniquais (not compulsory, you can replace it with dill or purple basil
  • 30 g of half-salt butter without E

Preparation:

  1. Peel and wash the carrots, celery and leeks. Cut them into large pieces.
  2. Peel and finely chop the onion or not Eye twinkling
  3. In a large cocotte, melt the butter and brown the vegetables and the bouquet garni. Cover with water and salt to taste.
  4. Cook for about 15 minutes over low heat and uncovered.
  5. Add the whole crab and cook for another 15 minutes.
  6. Sprinkle finely chopped Martinique thyme just before serving.
