2020 Democratic presidential candidate Andrew Yang on his plan to offer universal basic income to all Americans between the ages of 18 to 64.
A Democratic presidential hopeful for the 2020 presidency is proposing $1,000 a month for all citizens between the ages of 18 and 64 as part of a universal basic income program.
Andrew Yang, an American entrepreneur and the founder of Venture for America, said the spending proposal would cost the U.S. Treasury an estimated $2 trillion a year.
“The size of our economy is now $19 trillion a year. It’s grown by $4 trillion in the last 10 years alone. We can easily afford $1,000 a month per citizen,” he told FOX Business’ Stuart Varney on Monday.

Yang recommends implementing the European Union’s Value Added Tax (VAT) at half the rate of 10%, which he said would provide the government with enough money to afford the monthly allowance. Applying a sales tax would grow the economy by $2.5 trillion a year and would create 4.5 million new jobs, according to Yang.
“It’s common sense where if you gave $1,000 to American consumers, they would spend it in their local economy in Main Street businesses every day,” he said.
The entrepreneur is basing his universal income platform on the premise that truck drivers will be driven out business by all-electric truck technology as introduced by Tesla, and brick-and-mortar retailers going out of business due to the effect of e-commerce giant Amazon.
“We need it because truck driving is the most common job in 29 states right now in the U.S. and we all know that trucks will start driving themselves in the next five to 10 years,” Yang said. “Retail is the second-biggest job category in the United States and 30% of malls are going to close.”

OVERVIEW
How do I receive the Manna basic income?
1.) Create a Mannabase.com user account here:

2.) Log in to your account, then look for the green banner at the top of your dashboard with a
link to finish the verification process.
3.) You will be asked for various personal information to verify you are a unique person.
Once complete, you will either be immediately approved or in some cases, pending
further review.
How does Manna UBI work?
Manna is distributed weekly as a basic income to all verified users on an ongoing basis. The
amount distributed is equal to 3.5% of the circulating money supply per year.
How much will I receive each week?
The amount each user receives is based on the number of verified recipients and the current
circulating supply. So 0.067% (3.5%/ 52 weeks) of the circulating supply is evenly distributed
amongst all verified recipients each week.
For instance, if there are 50,000 verified users and a circulating supply of 500 Million Manna,
then each user would receive 6.73 Manna that week in base UBI.
How does the referral bonus program work?
In order to promote user growth, Manna has created a referral bonus program. You can
participate in this program by logging into your account and copying the referral link on your
dashboard. Simply share this link and you will receive bonus Manna for anyone who signs up
using your referral link and is approved for UBI.
Important: You will only receive the bonus Manna for those you have referred that have been
verified and approved.
Current Bonus Structure:
Each Referral: 100% base UBI Bonus for 52 Weeks (1 Year)
Each Referee: 50% base UBI Bonus for 52 Weeks (1 Year)
Example: You refer 10 people and all of them are approved for Manna basic income. The UBI
for that week equals 10 Manna. You receive the 10 Manna, plus 100 Bonus Manna.
Note: The current referral program is temporary and will likely change over time. If you sign
people up after the referral program has been updated, your new referral bonuses will be based
on the new bonus structure.
How do I spend Manna?
You can send Manna to other Mannabase users, or out of your Mannabase account to a desktop
wallet (either your own or somebody else’s), or to exchanges where you can sell it for other
cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin. From there, you can sell your Bitcoin for your native fiat currency
like the US dollar.
Longer term, we plan to improve the usability of Manna through a number of solutions:

Why haven’t I received Manna yet?
Manna Universal Basic Income is distributed once per week, and each recipient who is approved
before the weekly distribution occurs will receive an equal share of the manna distributed that
week as UBI, plus referral bonuses. If you were not approved before this week’s distribution,
you may be approved for the next week’s distribution, after our staff reviews your application.
Please note, some misinformation has been spread on social media about how many coins each
person receives in our distributions. For example, some people have promoted Manna by
incorrectly saying that everyone receives 500 manna per week or a 500 manna signup bonus.
That is not how our program works, and we are doing what we can to prevent such confusion in
the future.
Why wasn’t my account approved/ still pending?
We’re sorry that your application for Manna Universal Basic Income could not be automatically
approved. Our website uses algorithms to detect applications that may require manual review by
Mannabase staff. The purpose of this is to prevent duplicate applications by the same person.
Your application for Manna UBI is in the queue for review and potentially approval. Because of
